Today in the mail we received a card-shaped envelope with our agency's address as the return and a gold sticker seal on the back. Most of our mail correspondence from the agency is shaped like a bill or other legal documents. Children's Bridge has a charity organization called Children's Bridge Foundation and they often have fundraisers or formal events so I figured it was an invite to one of those and opened it with little attention. Instead, I found a "Welcome baby" card. It was signed by our direct contact and included a handwritten note welcoming "Annie, OuYang Chun Wen" to our family. The printed note read "So happy you're here!" which was adjusted with an arrow inserting "almost". I could have cried.
And somehow, thinking of the card a few minutes later, it hit me that this is real. I think I've approached this referral as a possibility, an option, a prospective solution to our quest... but it's more than that, it's our answered prayer and our dream come true. This is It. She is Her.
I'm having trouble wiping the smile off my face!
