When kids are more whiney? more defiant? more deaf?
When everything goes wrong?
For example:
The morning starts with a fight to get people out of the door, fully dressed, on time.
The impromptu hair cut goes tragically wrong.
The woman waiting for you to back out of the parking spot isn't smiling, she's wincing b/c you very nearly backed into her car (which was NOT there when you looked over your shoulder)
The once a month cleaning person isn't done when you get home so you have to hide out in the bedroom with two preschoolers.
Lunch is late, and totally based on unhealthy comfort foods that make you feel like crap within ten minutes anyway.
The kids fight all afternoon, and report each and every transgression against him/her to you.
The potty-trained toddler, sporting boots and coat for the imminant departure to meet the school bus announces she has poop in her pants.
The music student rudely tells his teacher he'd rather go home than play her next game.
The idea to kill time at the mall between music and swimming lessons only winds the kids up more.
The instructor allows your five year old into the parented tot class so he doesn't have to sit on the side alone, but the parents of the infant give him dirty looks every time he splashes the baby.
The task of drying and dressing three munsters after class is overwhelming.
The absense of a truck in the driveway tells you Help is not home, a phone call confirms he won't be for the rest of the night.
The soup is concentrated, but you don't notice that until it's been cooking for ten minutes.
The kids don't like soup anyway.
The boys don't listen to directions to get pjs on, and break your heart with tears when consequences are announced.
The girl screams herself to sleep because she has a boo boo on her finger (first trip up) or her toe (second trip up).
The guilt you feel after eating half a chocolate bunny dipped in peanut butter feels worse than the comfort of the food in the first place.
Meanwhile, boiling beneath the surface of immediate consciousness is the stress of adoption unknowns, financial concerns, civil injustices (money owed for work done), pressing work issues and uncertainties... all lowering tolerance to any additional conflict to dangerous levels.
Have you?
No? Never? Me either.

I have NO idea what you are talking about. My little darlings and my perfect life are nothing like what you described.
Not. :)
I'm guessing you went to bed early, b/c I don't see you on. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!
A book I tell you!!! This must become a book!! What do you think Melissa? I ask you because you are the only one who responds to Nat's (talented) ramblings. This would sell like hot cakes!!!!
Yet you still take time to think of others and I appreciate it very much :)
I agree! I think she writes very well, and I enjoy reading it. She's going to have to leave that malarky about 820 words per minute out tho. LOL!
P.S. Did I mention yet that I scored 98 WPM? With one error? :)
