The other night we went out for Chinese buffet to celebrate our referral. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought fortune cookies and the Tink handed me one. I am superstitious, I was a little too concerned that the odometer in the car would hit 155156 before we reached home because 155155 would be a much more lucky number to stop on. However, I have enough experience with gimics to realize the vague way in which they are written allows the reader to interpret the message to be relevant regardless of life circumstance. For the record, mine read "You will conquer obstacles to achieve success" which related to both the evening's celebrations and the complications we actively ignored for the dinner.
Today in church we were included in the Peoples' Prayer. The minister asked for Chun Wen's health, comfort and safety, and for peace of mind for Steve and I during our current times of uncertainty and stress. I was fine with that, until two well meaning ladies behind me asked about Chun Wen at which point I rewarded their kindness with a meltdown.
The weekend has been a needed rest from the stress of anticipation. I'm hoping I can hold onto that peace into and past Monday - afterall, stressing about it isn't going to make the phone ring or the answer improve.
