but just barely...
I feel like that Little Engine, climbing uphill and running out of steam: I think I can I think I can I think I can IthinkIcan IthinkIcan IthinkIcanIthinkIcanIthinkIcan...
The last week has wiped me out. Every two-legged member of the family caught the flu and had a turn paying homage to the porcelain god (or wisely placed mixing bowl... or even the bed or floor, depending on age). As I wrote I spent much of Sunday and Monday in the Valley and the rest of Sunday and Monday driving to and from the Valley. I've been up late for various reasons including errands, chores, bookclub and my personal favourite, insomnia. Why is it that I get insomnia when I need to sleep the most? Nothing worse than lying in bed, knowing I NEED to sleep and watching the time available for that slipping away.
It's Thursday night and the kids are down (knockonwood). I'm going to climb into bed early with Rook, George and the hot rocker doc whose name I forget but previews promise will be back tonight (how can I forget his name? Dammit!). Tomorrow is going to be crazy busy with all the Hallowe'en activities - parties at Jack's school, E's preschool and Amy's daycare, pizza dinner with A&A and TorT'ing with a huge crowd; old friends from the daycare who we don't see enough, Cousins Lily, Kelly and Sean, Honourary Family Uncle Rick and Auntie Shu... should be a blast, as long as it's not cold and miserable. Saturday finds us at another party, then a shower for Wen followed by a fellowship meeting, Sunday has church and bball for Steve, something in the afternoon that I'm forgetting that I'm sure is terribly important. Next week we have flu shots and an IWK assessment piled onto the regular schedule of music, swimming and skating times four and I *think* basketball may start?... there doesn't seem to be an end in sight!

You mean the guy on ER that's trying to get with Neela? I don't like him. He's a worm.
You need to work a day of REST into your schedule, chick.
