Drama

Did I say we don't have drama around here? Silly me.

AnnaWen has been digging at Paxten when we're not looking with hits, bites, pushes, pinches... and Paxten soaks it up with blood curdling screams and epic whines of a broken heart over the injustice. It's gotten to the point that I never know who started the ruckus or what exactly happened, seeing as I only ever get one side of the story and that through a lot of tears. Meanwhile, Wen is using the other Munsters' interest in her to toy with their minds. She chooses whether that specific sibling is worthy of sharing the breathing air around her and either smiles and joins in with them or pushes them away with a suprizingly nasty "NO!" Not to be outdone, Tink has been toying with smart talk, loving the phrase "I AM!" when she's asked to do something for the fourth time (and ususally, she's NOT).

As I wrote the last paragraph, I looked over to the door where they were getting their shoes on and saw Wen standing over a momentarily innocent Paxten, raise her hand very decisively and bring it down on her head. Not hard, not to hurt, but with clear intent. I went over and reprimanded "NO HITTING!" and moved her to a sitting position nearby. She sat stoically, waiting to be released. When I called her over I said "Say sorry", pointing to Paxten. She nodded at Paxten then rubbed her hand gently on her arm. In the past, that was her sorry, but I've heard her say sorry and know she can repeat any word offered to her, so it's no longer good enough. She stood there for a full five minutes refusing to say the word. When I repeated "Say SORRY" with intonation to make it clear that she had to say the word, she brust into tears. From that point on, every time I made eye contact with her she'd squeeze out a few more. I tried to instruct her further "you need to say it" and with examples;

"Say 'no'"
"no"
"Say 'puppy'"
"puppy"
"Say 'sorry'"
... more squeezed tears. Heaven help us.

In the end, she mumbled something that passed for "sorry" but mostly b/c Paxten was getting tired of waiting patiently and Elliot was late for preschool.

Drama.

I love your new blog Natalie...you're stylin girl! :)

I know I shouldn't laugh at this post, and I can only imagine the struggles you are going through figuring everything out...but man you are a good writer and it made me smile a little!

You should think seriously about that career change! (...previous post)

I hope things get better soon.
Take care,
Jill

They hit and pinch in China. Some one told that a woman came up and slapped there child because the child was sucking its thumb.

Also Annawen may not know "how" to play or what she should do. If I waited for Fenway to say sorry, we would be there for hours. Times = shut down at our house.

She used to pick on Devin something terrible, bite, pinch or growl at him if he came near. Anna will get. Stay stubborn.
