In the IA community once a family submits their Letter of Intent (LOI), they count the days that pass until they receive their Letter of Acceptance (LOA). On message boards and blogs, these counts are compared and calculated to try and predict wait times for following families. I spoke last week with a fellow waiting mom and she expressed that she does not count, that it would be too much stress to count each day. I agreed that was a good perspective to have and decided not to count our wait for LOA either. So I won't report that our LOA was submitted 8 days ago (including today). Nor will I tell you that calculates to about 180 hours, 10 800 minutes, 648 000 seconds...
