HEY from TO!

HELLO! I’m home! But just temporarily.

We left Hali and arrived in TO with no problems and few tears. I watched most of an On Demand movie (Fool’s Gold) and am hoping it is offered on the next flight so I can watch the rest – why would they offer a movie that is longer than the flight? Frustration! When we left, we walked about 27.3 miles through the Toronto airport. I use the term “walked” loosely because Steve insisted on RIDING the moving sidewalks and not walking on them. So it took us about twice as long. I should have stopped at the 0:10 Minute Manicure and caught up to him. We found Capt Steele waiting anxiously for us at the gate… I guess a Chinese announcement to board a flight to Shanghai and resulting exodus of all her seat mates made her wonder what was going on. My anxiety increased when the guy at the Currency Exchange desk warned me that travellers’ cheques may not be received in China, and if they are we’ll have to pay $10/cheque to cash it… Ah well… if it’s true, we’ll deal with it then.

Julie and I are going to browse… something about tourist shops, even if it’s at home… See you in Beijing!
