Here and There, the Day that Is.

We are slowly plodding through August, towards September and China and AnnaWen. While the scene in my rearview shows quickly fading landscape, the perspective of here going forward is slow.

I'm waiting to hear about our In Country intinerary. So far I know we leave Halifax, at 1045am on the 5th of September to land in Toronto at 12:05pm. We leave TO at 2:45, having met up with Capt. Steele and land in Beijing 13 hours and one day later. I know that we leave Beijing on the 19th at 5:50pm and land in Toronto 50 mins later after a 13 hour flight. Can you say, "Great Scott, McFly!"? I hope to find out the rest of the details this week, but "next week" has been an ongoing theme in this adoption so I'll say that instead.

In the meantime, I'm watching way too much Olympics at the expense of needed sleep time. Last night I was up past 2am watching the US gymnastics fall on their butts. I can't say much, however, since Canada has yet to recieve a medal at all - though the men were SOOO close in the 200m relay last night. I'm not sure I'd be sleeping anyway, my mind will not shut off.

And, since the process of this adoption has been wrought with complications, poor timing, obsticles and plain ol' bad luck, it's fitting that rumour has it the orphanage donation will go from $3K to $5K on SEPTEMBER 1. Nice eh? The fact that we've been blessed by finding this beautiful, precious, perfect little girl amounts to a miracle at the end of such a bumpy road. I'm not in the least bit surprized Murphy (of the Laws) was able to throw this one last punch. I'm holding out hope it doesn't come to pass, but I've heard it from several sources and think it may just be true.

24 days.

I hope the orphanage donation does NOT increase before your trip. Or as luck would have it, during your trip. It would be the most unfortunate fellow who would do that to you! Murphy can just bite me. :)
