Getting there...

Between yesterday and today we got one day closer... but somehow in my mind we're A LOT closer, and my waking thoughts this morning revolved around panic that I hadn't started packing. So I did that tonight.

I have a small suitcase that has all of the donations my clients contributed to the orphanage; clothes, shoes, markers, stickers, smellies and other such things for the nannies, film, a book, etc. Since there was weight room in that one I added some things of ours too - the carrier, AnnaWen's backpack with some toys, animals, bubbles, M&Ms (read "bribery tools"). In the big suitcase I have all of Wen's clothes and all of our clothes (excepting a change put in our carryon). I have a short list of things I need to get. I think the big suitcase is dangerously close to weight the upper weight limit so I may have to do some weeding later, but it's a good start. And it was ALMOST enough to keep my mind off the fact that I was missing Keith Urban singing in the Commons.

Tomorrow, I'm taking the Munsters to church (since we skipped last week to watch the Closing and will miss the next 3 weeks at least). After that we'll probably go grocery shopping. I have a project for us to do in the afternoon - we're making "advent calendars" as per Auntie Glen's suggestion. They will be filled with M&Ms which the kids will eat a day at a time to count down until our return. Tomorrow night, Steve's playing wheel chair basketball (yes, you can laugh, I did, but he's going to have his ass kicked!) and I have some girlfriends coming over to watch a movie and eat chocolate. Maybe even drink wine. Yum.
