We're GOING to CHINA!!!
Our Notice of Coming came today! This was the last official step/document in our journey to Annawen! The document states that everyone approves of the match and asking us to travel in person to Lanzhou, Gansu to collect her for adoption.
Our agency does all the travel arrangements - books flights, accomodations, guides in China, legal and health appts for the adoption, etc. I'm sooo glad it's done that way. We're travelling with three other families, which is fantastic because when we "switched lines" we gave up our other travel group and thought we'd be travelling as a group of one family.
We have tentative dates of travel of September 5th to 19th, inclusive. That means we'll probably get Anna on/around Sept 7. Yes, we're missing Jack's birthday, for which I'm feeling an incredible amount of guilt :( He has expressed concern that we may miss it, saying "I sure hope you're here for my birthday" or "I sure hope you go on the 14th of September". We've reiterated that we don't have a choice, which thankfully, he seems to understand. I think he's mostly worried that if we're not here, he'll miss out on the celebrations but of course that's not the case. We'll have a big Family Bday party for him when my parents are in town, and a big Kid party in August. I'll make sure whomever is with him on his birthday has a cake and leave a present or two from us for him to open on that day. And I've just now decided, as I'm typing, that we'll have our own "just us" family dinner when we're home with Annawen. Ah the parental guilt.

WOOOHOOOOO!!!
That's awesome! :D I'm sorry about Jack's birthday... But, I'm sure that you will make the best of it, and he'll be ok with it in the end. :)
I think that over time it will become a very "special" birthday for Jack! Don't feel bad...he was getting his sister on his special day and he will appreciate you accommodating for him too. He'll love it regardless. You are a great mom Nat!
