Welcome to Canada

... which reminds me, we have yet to complete and submit Wen's citizenship paperwork. Bad parents. Gotta get on that...

We went sledding this past Saturday. The conditions for tobogganning weren't great - the snow was sparce and what was left had turned icy and crunchy and hard, but the sun was out and it wasn't too cold and the hill we go to is steep enough that you could probably gain some speed on grass in the summer. The kids were excited, the oldest Munsters of course remember sledding from last year, and the youngest Munster is so easy going that if her sibs are interested, she's game too. We bundled in snow pants, jackets, boots, mits, neck warmers, hats and piled into the car to meet some friends. I'm not sure what Wen thought when we arrived at the top of the hill carrying the sleds, I don't know if she put two and two together or not. Jack and Elliot jumped on the sleds and took the first trips down so I'm sure she got the idea by the time Steve loaded her onto the yellow plastic disk. I was at the bottom of the hill with my camera playing chicken with the kids trying to get good, close pics without getting hit. Steve gave Wen a gentle push to send her down.. I think she was smiling, until she hit Jack, flipped out of the sled and rode her face downhill for five or ten feet. By the time I got to her, she was crying and had a small cut on her face from the ice. Poor girl. To her credit, she wasnt' too phased. She didn't want to go down again by herself but she loved riding down with Steve or I, and by the time we were almost finished she also took a turn on the GT Runner. She's so brave!
