When Wen's paperwork arrived at Children's Bridge, she was one of several children who needed to be placed. Within that group, there were two children with questionable diagnoses in so much as the staff at the agency actually felt that the two children were typical with a diagnosis that was either misidentified or fabricated. Wen was one, Lilah was the other. Because of that parallel fact, I always felt that it might have gone either way with us getting Wen and them getting Lilah or the other way around... I've followed Lilah's family since they travelled, feeling she was kinda linked to us and Wen that way. I've talked to her mom through blogs and through FB, but never met. A week or two ago they posted that they were going to be in Halifax on their way to Cape Breton, so I suggested we meet up. We met them at their hotel this morning, walked the waterfront and had fish and chips for lunch. The kids visited a naval ship that was open for tours b/c of Natal Day, ran in the sprinker pad, climbed the wave and played in teh playground, looked for starfish and jellyfish, held hands and ran, laughed and loved spending time together.
Unfortunately my Munsters put on a show. They were WIRED and crazy with their behaviour - I'm not sure how many times I said "don't" or "stop" or "enough" or "no"... Poor Lilah, she may be afraid to come back! But they had a good time, I think. It was sooo heartwarming to meet the family I've followed in pictures, to see how well Lilah is flourishing and to get a hug and a kiss from such a sweet girl.

Meeting up with you was one of the main highlights of our trip out east. Thanks so much for arranging that N.
You're children are all beautiful. Colin and I were saying what a happy bunch they are, all with their beautiful smiles. Lilah had the time of her life. I think it's more than obvious she needs a sibling!
