Things have been crazy here... and with nearly 100% of my readers living in my house for two weeks, there hasn't been much need for an update.
The worst of the updates is, it looks like our exchange student from China is not likely to come afterall. Apparently her Study Visa was denied. They (her? agency? not sure) may reapply, and we are telling them we'll wait for her to do so so she'll have somewhere to live, but we're not taking another student if she doesn't come. I'm surprized at how disappointed I am about this. I'm trying to remind myself it's not the end of the opportunity, we could ask for one at Christmas if they have any doing half years, or next year... but I was ready for THIS girl, THIS year. I had lots of plans.
Our renos are coming to an end. The basement is all but finished. We have to put the faceplates on the plugs and have the plumber back to do the toilet and sink, but I moved toys and the Wii down last night and now my upstairs is TV FREE!!! We bought new furniture for the basement and new sitting room furniture for upstairs - less loungy, more formal... though "formal" is a relative term when buying stuff safe for four kids, three cats, a dog and a husband.
The cutest? Yesterday when I picked up the girls, they were at the neighbours accepting some huge green veggies from their garden. On the way home, AnnaWen asked me "What's in a bikini?" I was confused by the seguey until I realized she meant zuchini, not bikini... slightly different.

this is getting to be a "Pain" as the "word verification" word does not show up the first time I try to put something in and I have to redo it all over again each time.
