Fun in the Yard (D24)

We had a big playdate today. Not a birthday party, not a daycare or preschool event, just a playdate, with 25 kids invited (not including the Sampson Trio) with their parents. In the end, we had our three plus 12 from the ages of 4 months to just six years come to play in the yard - two pools (though the one with lake water was ignored while they squeezed into the baby pool filled with hot water), the water slide, swings and slides, giant rocks (I didn't watch), rides in the atv trailer, unending pop, cheesies and cheese popcorn... we had a blast. The weather wasn't perfect, it was windy and cool, but the kids didn't care, they swam and shivered and when they they got too cold they dressed and climbed on the rocks and chased each other instead.

Life has been stressful and uncertain the past few months. Work has been heavy, money has been tight, our family has been riddled with colds and stomach bugs... today was just what we needed. We relaxed and relished in the time we had together to play. We hope to do it again sometime soon!

Y'all are just certifiable. I couldn't be talked into that for a reason, let alone 'just because!' ;)

Smooches!! (no longer strep-contagious-smooches that is)

You can not be my daughter if that is what you did. I would have gone nuts with worry: about someone getting hurt, about unresolved fights, about parents being bored, about some child skinning their knee, about vomit all over the slide...etc...etc...etc. LOL
