Blog Contest

I'm hiding in my room. I've had a great day with the kids - shopping, lunch, movies - Lotsa fun! Upon returning home I announced to Steve that I needed a break. As my Facebook status reads, I am tired of all people under the height of five feet and currently really irked by all sounds they make. I just need to recharge.

I saw a notice for a contest and thought I'd look into it. As most of those "thoughts" go, it was in and out of my head within seconds. Mom sent me the link again, thinking I'd be interested. Luckily while that second thought of looking at it escaped nearly as quickly as the first, the email is stuck in my inbox and served as a reminder. I figure I might as well enter, right? Chances are slim I'll be chosen, but they are MUCH MUCH higher if I actually enter than if I don't bother.

They are looking for someone with "a fresh idea for a blog, a friendly voice, and lots of stories to share". Do I qualify? My blog is not novel or creative but our family is different than most: big with four kids, three 'home grown' and an adopted MeiMei. In August we'll be joined by a pseudo-adopted visiting JeiJei for ten months when we host our international student - from toddler to teen in a matter of months should make for "lots of (interesting) stories to share", doncha think? Friendly voice? Usually... though there are some snotty posts here - sometimes those are more interesting anyways.

Anyways... while I hide I'm submitting this post as my entry. And then I need to resurface and help Steve deal with Mr. Hyde in the living room - we're trying a new timeout approach and so far Mr. Hyde is testing the limits of that process to see what the new rules entail. Here comes my Less than Friendly Voice!
