Two days short of two weeks ago, PJ developed fevers that would come and go and lasted from Sunday to Wednesday. Two trips to the doc determined the cause to be a combo of teething and a viral infection - NOT the mumps, as was feared by the Public Healh Nurses working with the daycare (we have a letter to prove it). The music teacher who comes into the daycare was diagnosed with mumps the week prior. Good friends took all three kids for the night, which was a WONDERFUL plan - interrupted by a call at midnight, and a subsequent call at 1230 saying E had thrown up twice and in spite of tylenol his fever was going up reaching 103.7. A four hour tour in the ER determined the cause to be a viral infection - NOT the mumps (we have a letter to prove it). And by the way, "high fevers are not concerning" - yup, totally against what I ever thought, but that's what the doc told me at 3:15am. E's fevers lasted until Wednesday, overlapping with Jack's fevers by two days. Jack missed school on Tuesday and Wednesday, and spent most of the days asleep, which is very uncharacteristic for him. He seemed fine Thursday so he went to school, but had to be picked up after snack time when he threw up all over the snack table, instigating a chain reaction from Jennifer who spewed on the floor behind her. Poor Amy. He has not moved from the couch and Treehouse since coming down at 7am this morning. Meanwhile, Steve missed most of the workday Monday and has been feeling rotten since - fever, chills, cough and vomiting.
I'm the last one standing. I fear for my wellbeing.
To lighten the mood, if this link works you really MUST watch it. If you don't blow pop out of your nose, well... you probably weren't drinking pop when you watched.
