Friday again

Nothing new to report... I had to check the blog to see if I had written about the 15-20 day batch rumour, but I did. No new information since then. Those in the know in the rumour business seem confident this one may reasonably come to pass - they have many theories of how it may be possible, if not likely. I'm waiting cynically - or trying to wait cynically - I don't want to believe it yet.

As I've mentioned, November 2005 is a large month but following that, the months are significantly smaller with many fewer families to match to babies (with the exception of March 2006). There are rumblings that once we get through November, it is possible the CCAA will start to match 2-3 weeks at a time, which would appear to be a speedup in the process. Not a real speedup, but a reduced slowdown if that makes sense... it keeps the possibility of fall 2008 in the game for us, so I hope that's how it plays out.

I'm stressing less and less about the age difference between Paxten and Anna - does another year make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things? I hope not. Lots of people are two, three, four years between children and seem to do okay. Maybe we'll come into some big money with a lottery or something and be able to go back to China or to another country to adopt a fifth child close to Anna's age? That would help.

Elliot's birthday was on Tuesday, he turned 3 years old. It is unbelievable. On one hand, it seems a lifetime ago that I held a colicky, crying, demanding infant, that he has been his crazy happy self for a lifetime. On the other hand, I can't believe how fast the time since his birth has flown. He's become such a little man. Last week he decided he's too big? old? cool? something for "mommy" or "daddy" any more. We are now "mom" and "Dad" (Grammie is "Gram" and Amy is "Ame". I know it's a conscious decision b/c I caught him correcting himself a couple of times "Mommy? - I mean, MOM?" Ugh. I could cry each time I hear it! Doesn't he know he's still a BABY???
