When the cat's away...

... the mice will play!

Or at least the second favourite parent will take the opportunity to try and gain some ground through shameless bribery and spoiling. We dropped Steve off with his basketball team at 945 so he could catch a carpool to PEI for a tournament. We headed on to the church to "practice" the Sunday School Christmas pagent (what madness that was). From there we came home to have lunch and some play time. At 430 the local pool was hosting a swim for the Autism Society of Nova Scotia (I'm on the board) so we went and were only one of four families! The kids had a blast. We went to rent some movies and picked one for the boys, one for the girls and one for the Mommy then I treated them to dinner at one of their favourites, Jungle Jim's (you get a trip to the treasure chest, which is really the only reason to choose a restaurant). I was supposed to have a Girls' Movie Night In, but the other girls were snowed home so instead I'm snuggled up in my bed with two Little Men watching their choice of Harry Potter, I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.

As far as my doom and gloom post, nothing has been resolved at work. I hope to learn more in the coming week, and then I'm off for two weeks for Christmas. I'm really hoping for a turn of luck but trying not to hold my breath for fear of being disappointed again. We'll see how it falls.
