I think guilt is a prerequisite of parenting. You can not be a parent without a good sense of guilt. It doesn't really matter if the guilt is warranted or rationale, just so long as it eats you from the inside out. It would be really great if "eating you" was literal, then I could be skinny too! I wish I had a better reason to tell my six year old "no" than because we didn't have enough money, time, experience, energy.
Other things I've learned today:
2 cups of rice is still too much for our family of six.
Hearing "don't jump on the furniture" apparently has a shelf life of 5 minutes.
PJ wasn't jumping ON the furniture, she was jumping off.
Someone is cosmically pissed that I'm drinking Diet Coke again after kicking the habit for 3.5 years, I've spilt two glasses of it in the last hour. Damn.
