Favourite Part of the Day

At the Sampson house, we play a dinner time game called "What was YOUR favourite part of the day?". We all take turns answering, then asking someone else. When her English was limited, AnnaWen didn't participate much. As she learned more language, she started answering, first by imitating directly what the last person said, then by imitating what someone said that seemed appropriate. Most recently she gave her own answers, but they were all kinda "scripted" - answers from someone before that fit the day. Today she gave her first answer that was unequivocally original and hers. After a day that was filled with her birthday pool party, a friend's party, two trips to the rink (first for the boys' hockey then for mine) and dumplings for dinner for Chinese New Year (probably her fave), what was her favourite part of the day? "Skipping church". Heathen.
